Shirosagi, Akasagi, Kurosagi?

September 21, 2009

I just finished watching the Japanese drama Kurosagi. I found it funny but not very deep. But it still helps to have eye candy Maki Horikita in the show! Heh.

KurosagiKurosaki is a swindler who only swindles other swindlers’ victim’s(this is a mouthful) money back for them. However, its not an act of kindness, but rather of revenge because when he was 15, a swindler swindled his father’s money. Driven to desperation, his father killed everyone in the family, including himself, only sparing Kurosaki. With a personal vendetta against that swindler, he resolves to destroy every swindler in the world. Strangely, he works in secrecy with the man who caused his father’s death.

Note: Its not a typo error, ‘Kurosagi’ is his alias which the public and police know him by. It literally means black swindler. ‘Kurosaki’ is his real name!

This show seems to constantly raise the question of how one should live in this world – honestly or deceivingly. It also tries to portray what one would do when one’s loved one is blinded by revenge.

Projects for spartans

June 16, 2009

I realized just recently that I have a twitter account. One which I created eons ago. I don’t remember creating it at all! Anyway, I think that the idea of twitter (now that I’ve really seen it) is kind of weird. Why? Because you can update it anytime with your handphone.

Think about it. Lets say you pass your driving test and you want someone to know. I think some people I know who use twitter would just send “I passed the driving test! Yes!” to their twitter page! Isn’t it more logical to just call that precious one of yours to tell him/her immediately?

Haha. I think I’m back. I feel better these days. Not so much brooding, but still a lot of thinking. I’ve been watching House recently and its really given me food for thought. Its not just another medical drama like Grey’s Anatomy (okay it’s good but I think House ranks higher). You guys should watch House!

My MSTs (Mid-Semester Tests) are happening in 2 weeks and its a mad rush. We have 5 projects to hand up when school re-opens! Its madness!

“Madness? THIS IS SPARTA!”

Sorry, spartan moment.

Reverance of the Samurai

May 5, 2008

I watched the movie – The Last Samurai last night. It starred Tom Cruise and Ken Watanabe. A very touching, epic and beautiful story about how we should never forget our roots, where we come from. What I feel is that, my roots are my parents. Although I don’t say much, I thank God for them because if they had not brought me to church, I wouldn’t have known God, and they provide enough for me (though sometimes I tend to think that its because I don’t ask for much). And I am thankful, really. But the movie made me think. Because Ken Watanabe’s character, Katsumoto, who was the leader of the few remaining people who kept the way of the samurai, was utterly and whole-heartedly devoted to his emperor. In one scene, he knelt down before the emperor and said, “You are my Lord, my King, my emperor. It should be you who gives me advice, for I dare not speak out against you”. It is such a thing to revere someone like this. God should be revered like this. I want to fear him, with such passion and intensity, like Katsumoto did with his emperor.
